Why does Whirlwind feel so reliable in Season 14?

You are not trying to set up a complicated combo every pack. You shout, start spinning, and keep moving. That is the appeal. A properly built Whirlwind Barbarian can clear Helltides, handle Torment content, and make steady Pit progress without needing perfect rolls on every slot. The build also comes online earlier than many players expect, especially once you pick up key Diablo 4 Items that support Fury recovery and Berserking. Whirlwind does the heavy lifting, while Tornado adds Dust Devils around the edges. They are nice extra damage, but the spin itself is still the reason the build works.
Which skills actually matter when I am spinning?

Whirlwind is your priority, so take the upgrades that reward channeling and raise its damage, even if the Fury cost looks a bit scary. Rallying Cry is doing more work than people give it credit for: healing, Fortify, movement speed, and resource help all come together there. Challenging Shout keeps incoming damage under control and can apply burning, which matters because Rage of Harrogath likes damage over time. War Cry brings the damage buff, Berserking, and a useful burst of attack speed. Wrath of the Berserker should stay active as much as possible. Its new resistance bonus and burn aura make rough elite packs far less awkward. Iron Skin is optional. If adding it leaves you starved for Fury, skip it. A defensive button is not much help when it stops your engine.
How should the Paragon setup support the build?

Think of the boards as a way to make spinning safer, not just a place to chase bigger numbers. Start with Challenger for stronger normal nodes and better elite damage. Warbringer is a major stop because Fortify is always around, and Wrath is huge there. Critical hits generating Fury can save a run when your resource bar starts dipping. Flawless Technique and Exploit help maintain critical damage and Vulnerable uptime; War Cry can cover the small gap when Exploit falls off. Blood Rage works naturally because Berserking is basically permanent, while Twister gives Dust Devil creation a worthwhile payoff. Finish through Weapon Master for maximum Fury and Marshall. Shorter ultimate cooldowns from your shouts feel brilliant in real play, not just on a planner.
What keeps Fury from falling apart, and is Selig worth it?

Fury is your health bar if you use Melted Heart of Selig, so do not treat regeneration as a spare stat. Ramaladni's Magnum Opus drains Fury every second, and Anger Management adds another drain. Stack Fury per second on your helm, chest, pants, and boots, then lean on Tibault's Will while Unstoppable for its enormous recovery. Resource generation improves what you gain from effects such as Wrath, while Fury regeneration is the steady background refill. Selig is worth the switch when survival is the problem, though its reduced life total can look strange at first. Lower life is part of the trade-off. If you are still hunting one, focus on staying alive and improving your core gear first; buying Diablo 4 Items buy options can help fill a stubborn slot, but the build still lives or dies by its Fury balance.
